About Us:
Joystream is a L1 blockchain-based video streaming platform operating as a DAO. Our (DePin) infrastructure includes storage and distribution nodes supported by a distributed community of workers.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Lead to manage the consolidated storage and distribution working group and develop the infrastructure capabilities in-line with our growth. The role will focus on ensuring cost and performance-optimized service availability for our video streaming dApps within the Joystream ecosystem. The role is fully remote and requires at MOST 4 hours overlap with CET timezone. Compensation is offered in the native blockchain asset, JOY token, which is liquid and traded on multiple exchanges. This is a chance for an experience tech leader to shape the future of distributed video streaming service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an architecture authority for both storage and CDN networks. This includes:
- Collaborate with the development team to promote and integrate new features and functionalities into the infrastructure, with a deep understanding of blockchain technology and its implications on infrastructure design.Design and prototype deployment model.
- Manage and scale a distributed storage system.
- Manage and scale a distributed CDN system.
- Monitor and benchmark performance of CDN and storage infrastructure.
- Maintain documentation for storage and CDN infrastructure, including deployment documentation.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of infrastructure services to support video streaming dApps within the Joystream blockchain ecosystem.
- Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure management
- Excellent communication (spoken and written English) and leadership skills.
- Required skills: Proficiency in Linux, Kubernetes, docker/docker-compose, nginx or Caddy, GraphQL, Prometheus.
