Vision

The Apps WG main focus is supporting anyone interested in building applications on top of Joystream. Those would be mostly gateways (instances of Atlas), but it’s not limited to that. The WG should also help with development of Atlas and other tools that can help new developers enter the Joystream ecosystem.

Responsibilities of Apps WG

• Guiding web3 founders on how to build on top of Joystream, taking advantage of its features and capabilities; providing support and technical advice.
• Helping with promoting best practices of using Joystream to ensure optimal usage.
• Development of Joystream’s open source media player application, Atlas, ensuring it meets the needs of users and gateway providers as well as providing them with an intuitive experience.
• Encouraging collaboration between developers within the community, so that they can work together to create innovative solutions to problems faced by web3 entrepreneurs building on top of Joystream.
• Creating educational resources and tutorials to help web3 founders better understand the capabilities of Joystream and how to best leverage them for their projects.
